A single unoptimised photo can be bigger than the rest of the page combined. You upload a product image, the page slows down, and nobody notices the design you spent hours on because they already clicked away. The image compressor fixes that in one pass — a photo that was 4 MB comes out at around 400 KB, and the difference is hard to see with the naked eye.

Photos compress the most because there is a lot of fine detail to optimise. Logos, screenshots, and flat graphics compress less aggressively because that clean detail is the whole point. This image reducer adjusts to each file, so a JPG of a landscape does not come out the same way as a PNG of an icon. You pick a quality level, it does the work, and you download a lighter version.

Run one or two test exports when you first try a new quality setting, and compare the new file against the original at the size it will actually appear on your site. Keep the originals in a folder somewhere; you rarely need them, but when you do, you will be glad they are there.
